Job Responsibilities

  • Install and repair plumbing systems and fixtures, in buildings both residential and commercial.

  • Able to perform rough, topout, and finish plumbing per building codes.

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Journeyman Drywall Installer and Finisher. The responsibilities will consist of the installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of various drywall jobs and the associated materials and equipment within the light commercial and residential construction industry. 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
  • Hang wallboard to ceilings or to interior walls of buildings using hand tools, or portable power tools. Know proper screw pattern per building codes.
  • Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knife.
  • Install metal corner bead as needed.
  • Apply coats of compound after wallboard has been hung to walls or ceiling. Smooths out imperfections with trowels.
  • Sand and finish all surfaces preparing them for painting
  • Must be able to match existing textures
  • Maintain small tools, equipment and company vehicle.

You will be responsible for assessing and reducing contamination levels in living spaces. Duties may include reporting on damages and advising on effective solutions, removing affected materials, setting critical barriers, working in confined spaces.  Sanitizing contaminated surfaces, drying savable materials.

  • Cleaning and storing damaged properties until they can be returned to the home.

Journeyman Tile Setter

Job Description

Tile setters are responsible for installing tiles. They cut tiles using several different tools, including tile scribes, wet saws and handheld tile cutters. They then lay tiles in evenly spread mortar, ensuring precision, clean edges and straight lines. Other duties include removing existing floor coverings, taking measurements and cleaning and leveling the surfaces where the tiles are to be laid. It is essential that tile setters are detail oriented in planning and laying tiles on floors. Their measurements must be accurate and tile patterns must be precise.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cut tiles properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools
  • Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels
  • Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise
  • Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly
  • Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms
  • Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
  • Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs

Job Responsibilities

  • Cover floors and furniture with drop cloths and tarps to protect surfaces.
  • Remove fixtures such as pictures, doors, doorknobs, electric outlet / switch covers, and light fixtures.
  • Work and setup scaffolding and ladders.
  • Fill holes and cracks with putty, plaster, or other compounds.
  • Prepare surfaces by scraping, wire brushing, or sanding to a smooth finish.
  • Calculate the area to be painted and the amount of paint needed.
  • Apply correct primers or sealers so that the paint will adhere.
  • Choose paints and stains for desired color and appearance.
  • Apply paint or other finishes, using hand brushes, rollers, or sprayers.  Because there are several ways to apply paint, workers must be able to choose the proper tool for each job, such as the correct roller, power sprayer, or brush.
